Traveling to Roatan was my first real experience outside of the US. I was unsure about how it would go, but once I arrived I was greeted by my amazing host mother and instantly felt at home. My time spent at the school was absolutely invaluable and I truly enjoyed getting to know the local children. I also had ample time to get to know other volunteers and explore the island. If you are looking for a meaningful and fun volunteer experience, this is the one for you!
